Corrective Care

Our Technology:

Digital X-rays: At Thrive Health Center we use hospital grade digital x-rays which provide an in depth image of what your spine actually looks like. A house needs blueprints before it is built, X-rays are the chiropractic version of blueprints. Often problems lay hidden beyond what we can feel with our hands, X-rays assure that we find them. By having initial x-rays we are also able to see your progress as we move through the different phases of care.

Motion Study X-rays: An advanced Xray technique we use at Thrive Health Center that will allow us to determine exactly what is working and what is NOT working in your spine. This allows you and our Dr.’s to quickly pin point and correct your biggest problem areas.

The Process of Spinal Correction:

Corrective care chiropractic is a multistep process our patients follow at Thrive Health Center in order help correct their spines back into proper alignment. Each visit we do a process called mix, fix and set to obtain maximum correction and help you achieve your goals. This process is explained below:

MIX

Similar to an athlete preparing their body prior to a big sporting event or warming up before a work out the “mix” phase of corrective care is designed to get your spine and the surrounding structures loose and “warmed up” so that you have a better adjustment. These warmups reduce the muscular tension built up in the neck, shoulders, mid back and low back.

Wobble Disc: On a wobble disc, our patients perform range of motion exercises designed to increase good motion in the thoracic and lumbar spine. On top of increasing range of motion, the wobble disc also helps rehydrate your intervertebral discs.

Cervical Traction: This exercise also helps to rehydrate the discs in your spine and relieve neck tension. By performing repetitive cervical traction, you are essentially pumping nutrients into your discs by gently decompressing them.

FIX

Adjustments: After the spine is properly warmed up it is ready for an adjustment. At Thrive Health Center we do specific decompressive manual adjustments to get the desired correction of your individual spine. Our adjustments are based off your X-rays and each one is tailored to your spine in order to correct the problem you have.

Arthrostim: At Thrive Health Center we also utilize state of the art adjusting tools to help break down scar tissue and adhesion. Breaking down the scar tissue adhesions helps to restore range of motion and get you results fast.

SET

Overtime our body memorizes our posture and movement patterns and it likes to keep within those patterns even if they are bad, this term is often referred to as “muscle memory” as you’ve probably heard. To make corrective changes the muscle memory pattern needs to be re-trained. That’s why immediately following your adjustment neuromuscular re-training specific to your condition will be performed which will help restore proper posture. We do this through individualized spinal weighting and the use of vibration platforms.

Vibration Platform: The vibration platform stimulates muscle fibers throughout the body, essentially increasing information to the brain in order to help it reset neurological patterns. The vibration platform also stimulates core stabilizer muscles to help maintain structural changes made during your visit. Without the set phase, changes made will only be temporary. Stabilization is key to regaining lasting change.

Spinal Weighing: Spinal weighting is the super glue for the adjustment, helping to lock in place the changes that need to be made. Coupled with the vibration platform, spinal weighting is performed for each patient based on their specific X-rays. Spinal weighting strengthens, retrains and resets muscles and ligaments to hold and support the spine in its proper position.
