The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens is a museum found in Jacksonville, Florida that showcases art. It was founded by Ninah Cumming, who bequeathed many paintings and art collections to the new museum, which was dedicated in 1960. It contains one of the largest collections of natural art, including works of wildlife, flowers, birds, and tropical plants. There are also exhibits on African American art, which features both classic and modern work. Information can be found here.

Most of the paintings and sculptures featured at the Cummer museum come from the early part of the twentieth century. There are also some very valuable works, ranging from oil painting to glass artwork, from ancient Egyptian statues to Renaissance art. The museum also has a history of collecting works of art from various cultures. Some of the pieces on display at the museum were made in the Middle East and Europe, but most were made in the United States. These include pieces made in California by the Native Americans, and by the Spanish in Mexico. Ninah Cumming always encouraged visitors to take some sort of tour with them before visiting her museum. This is because she believed that she could share some of the secrets about how she created her masterpieces with the help of her visitors. She had designed all the paintings and sculptures using materials that she bought in the many local stores around the area. In addition, she was an active member of the local community, encouraging people to visit her museum and enjoy their visit. The Cumming Museum of Art and Gardens was actually named after her and Ninah Cumming Gardens.
